Chris Rogers

Former CEO, Managing Director and General Manager

Chris has extensive experience in managing manufacturing and marketing companies in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. This experience has encompassed virtually all aspects of business management, from strategy development and planning to operational functions, such as manufacturing, marketing, technical services, human resources, distribution, safety, engineering, customer liaison, sales, financial reporting, software programming, and product and brand development. Chris's last corporate role was CEO of Pryda Reid, and he was responsible for leading the team that sold the businesses that he had previously managed for many years.

As Executive GM of Nylex Building Products Division, Chris was responsible for eight business units, spread across seven countries with the operation of seven manufacturing plants. Each plant produced a different range of products from a variety of different metals. Each of the businesses involved had differences in their channels to market, but for each he was able to develop a value added or niche position that assisted in improving the margin for the business.

In his role as Executive GM for Business and Organisational Development, Chris was responsible for Nylex's Human Resources Process, Safety Program and Group Purchasing. Much of the HR work revolved around planning the organisational structure of the business units, setting objectives and establishing a performance appraisal system. He also set the Safety Program up from scratch, established safety champions in each production unit and set up a monitoring system.

In recent years, Chris has focused his career on a wide range of business activities, most of which have been very people orientated. These have ranged from business advising, consultancy, exports and supporting business start ups.

Chris is a Chartered Structural Engineer by origin, a profession that has proven most useful in providing an analytical and structured approach to many issues encountered. He provides a practical approach to resolving business issues, commencing with the broad strategy and working down to the individual issues that organisations face.
